my full Teaching statement

Here's a Short version of my teaching philosophy!

My teaching vision is to foster critical and creative thinking in students in an inclusive and supporting learning environment. I use evidence based strategies such as active learning, peer collaboration, and structured discussions in my teaching. In my role as a teaching assistant for Developmental Speech Disorders, I guide students to connect their theoretical concepts about Speech Disorders to real-world clinical applications. To achieve this, I frequently employ experiential learning - through video demonstrations, and case studies. During case studies, I emphasize on students developing clinical reasoning and problem solving skills. I believe this prepares them for their future careers as Speech-Language Pathologists and sets them up for success. I am equally committed to inclusivity, gathering student feedbacks and learning preferences to adapt instructions accordingly. I also take students input seriously and strive to improve every year, one aspect that I am looking forward to working on is using the discussion sections more effectively and probably discuss some research papers too!

feedbacks

"Worksheets were helpful for reviewing what I learned in class and applying it in a practical way!I appreciated how you intentionally took the time to reexplain difficult topics from lecture in the lab. You also offered a lot of support and gave clear and fair feedback."
